Mahmoud El-Gohary ((アラビア語:محمود الجوهري)) (February 20, 1938 – September 3, 2012) was an Egyptian football coach and player. He is the first and one of two people, along with Nigeria's Stephen Keshi, to have won the Africa Cup of Nations as both a player and a coach.

Legendary Mahmoud El Gohary (الكابتن محمود الجوهرى)
El-Gohary is one of the most important figures in the history of Egyptian and African football, and is considered by many as the best Egyptian football coach ever.
• His greatest achievement as a Football Coach is qualifying with Egypt’s National Team to World Cup 1990 after a 56-year absence from the tournament.
• As a football player he played for Al Ahly and he was the top scorer of the 1959 edition of the African Cup of Nations, which was won by Egypt.
• He was the first to win the African Cup of Nations both as a player and couch. After winning The Nations Cup as a coach in 1998 it was the first time for Egypt to win the title away in a different country in Africa
• He qualified to the first FIFA World Nations Cup after winning the African Nations Cup 1998
• He is the only Egyptian to coach both Ahly and Zamalek and win with both Local and African Tournaments
• Winning with Al Ahly first African League Titles - African League Winners & African League Cup winners
• Winning with Zamalek first African Super Cup against Al-Ahly
Mahmoud El Gohary's strongest impact was on Egypt's and Jordanian Football.. and his is know as the most coach to bring new Football Talents and Generations into the Arab Football World in the Countries he coached (Egypt, Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman)
In August 2004 and under El-Gohary management, Jordanian national team reached its highest FIFA World Rankings in its history; rank of 37.
Under the leadership of El-Gohary, the Jordan national team was able to qualify for their first AFC Asian Cup tournament, in China 2004, and helped Jordan reached the quarterfinals of the tournament, but failed to qualify for the semifinals after losing to Japan in a penalty shoot-out after the match had ended with extra halves resulting 1-1. But thanks to El-Gohary, the Jordan team reached its highest FIFA world ranking, which was 37th place in 2004
El-Gohary also helped Jordan achieve great match results in FIFA World Cup qualifications for 2006. In the WAFF championship tournaments of 2004 and 2007, El-Gohary helped Jordan win third place

After he retired as a football coach, he became the technical advisor for Jordan Football Association
Changing the Football in Jordan to the highest level from different National Teams ages, Changing the Jordanian Football League to become Professional, and having Football Academies for the Youth under Prince Ali's name
